The artistic concept is based on the combination of an industrial object and a natural symbol – the apple – which references the cultural identity of the city of Almaty, traditionally known as the ‘city of apples’.The bright yellow colour of the bodywork enhances the decorative quality of the work and creates a harmonious blend with the colour palette of apples. From a semiotic perspective, the car serves as a symbol of the Soviet era, representing industrialisation, mobility and the everyday culture of the 20th century. The apple, by contrast, is a cultural symbol of Almaty and the entire Zhetysu region. The combination of these images gives rise to a new level of meaning: past and present, technology and nature, memory and local identity are all woven into a single artistic statement.
