The creative team of the Astana Opera House gave a charity concert dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War to the staff of the City Clinic №4 in Astana and its patients – the participants and veterans of the WWII, as well as the veterans of the Soviet-Afghan war, their mothers and wives.

The artists performed songs that everyone loves and continues to listen to this day, which were written during and after the war. Their names symbolize an entire era. Among them were: popular song by composer D. Tukhmanov and lyricist V. Kharitonov «Den Pobedy» (Victory Day), one of the most famous and most humane of the Great Patriotic War songs – «Zemlyanka» (In the Dugout) to the music by K. Listov and lyrics by A. Surkov, «U Chernogo Morya» (Near the Black Sea) to the music by M. Tabachnikov, lyrics by S. Kirsanov. The concert featured everyone’s favorite songs by Kazakh composers: «Kusni-Korlan» by Estay Berkimbayev «Kestelі Oramal», «Tos Meni, Tos» by Mukan Tolebayev. The program of the evening also included songs like «Proshchaite, Skalistye Gory» (Farewell, Rocky Mountains) by E. Zharkovsky, N. Bukin, «Na Bezymyannoy Vysote» (On an Unnamed Hill) by M. Matusovsky, V. Basner, well-known waltz song by Polish composer J. Petersburski to the lyrics by K. Galitsky «Siniy Platochek» (Blue Shawl) and many others.

- This project is a tribute to those who fought for our Motherland, who gave us the opportunity to live today in a world without war. Every family has a relative who fought, perhaps even gave his life and did not return from the battlefield, as, for example, my grandfather, – said the Chief Concertmaster of the Astana Opera House Elena Sakhno

The creative team of the opera house supported this initiative with great enthusiasm. The beautiful voices of «Astana Opera»: Saltanat Akhmetova, Baigali Mombekov, Evgeny Chainikov, Talgat Galeev, Bolat Essimkhanov sung for the generation of WWII victors, their children and grandchildren.

The Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra musicians Alexander Malinovsky (tuba) and Kirill Krasyukov (violin) took part in the concert.

Elena Sakhno performed the part of the piano.

The concert took place on April 30 in the City Clinic № 4.
