Grand Sextet for Piano and String Quintet in E flat Major and Divertimento Brilliante on Themes from Bellini’s Opera «La Sonnambula» will be presented to the Kazakhstani public for the first time. The Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra musicians Valery Moiseenko, Kirill Krasyukov (violins), Igor Beloborodov (viola), Fakhriddin Kusniddinov (cello), Anatoly Yakushkin (contrabass), as well as the author of the concert, concertmaster Dolores Umbetalieva will perform the compositions.

Dolores Umbetalieva said that she has rediscovered M.I. Glinka: «The final concert of our series in this season is devoted to the first Russian composer of world significance, founder of Russian music composition, instrumental performance and vocal schools M.I. Glinka, whose work marked the beginning of the Golden Age of Russian music. Our concert will feature his highly artistic chamber-instrumental music, which has not received such prevalence as his chamber-vocal, operatic or symphonic works. We have put together the sought-after with the unknown, revealed different facets of the composer».

M.I. Glinka’s romances, who himself was a tenor and loved to sing, are the pearls of Russian chamber-vocal lyricism. Leading opera soloist, international competitions laureate, the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation prize laureate Meir Bayneshov will perform «Ya Pomnyu Chudnoe Mgnovenie» (I remember a wonderful moment) to the lyrics by A. Pushkin, «Ne Iskushai Menya Bez Nuzhdy» (Do not tempt me without reason) to the lyrics by Y. Baratynsky, «Bedny Pevets» (Poor Singer) to the lyrics by V. Zhukovsky, «Kak sladko s toboyu mnye bit» (How sweet it is to be with you), «Zhavoronok» (The lark), «Venetsianskaya Noch» (Venetian Night) and other famous romances. The romances will be performed not only to the accompaniment of the piano, but also of the string quintet, which will give them even more charm and new bright colors.

Meir Bayneshov said that he was very pleased to participate in this unusual artistic approach. «All academic vocalists begin their creative journey with Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka’s romances. I am studying vocal art since 2001, and every day brings a new discovery. When, years later, I perform M.I. Glinka’s romances that are very dear to my heart, already knowing how to sing, interpret and present them properly, I feel nostalgic. I remember my first steps in the art of singing – the time when I sang these romances at the age of 15-16 as a first and second year college student and after that – more consciously – in the conservatory», – shared the leading soloist.

Piano – international competitions diploma holder Dolores Umbetalieva.

The concert starts at 19.00, the ticket price is 1 500 tenge.
