Astana Opera is featuring music «From Classical to Jazz». New brilliant program of classical, jazz and contemporary music will be presented to the audience on June 23 in the Astana Opera Chamber Hall at the concert of the series «Among Friends».

The program of the evening will feature the composition «Manoir de Mes Rêves» by one of the most prominent European jazz musicians Django Reinhardt, who is also one of the top guitarists of all time. His bright, imaginative improvisations inspired many generations of artists. In addition, the concert will include works: «Accarezzame» by P. Calvi, «The Last Waltz» by E. Humperdinck, «The Pink Panther Theme» by H. Mancini, compositions by G. Gershwin, A. Piazzolla, N. Brodszky, M. de Ponce and others.

- This style of music is very close to me, – said the chief concertmaster of Astana Opera Elena Sakhno. – Astana audience perceives fresh ideas, creative solutions with great enthusiasm, and we are pleased to work on interesting transcriptions, interpretations, original musical arrangements, going beyond the traditional classical concert.

Unforgettable instrumental compositions will be performed by the talented musicians: the concertmasters, soloists, first violins of the Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra – Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bagdat Abilkhanov, Aisulu Baikenova; Kirill Krasyukov (violin), Bakita Akibaeva (viola), Dilorom Tishaeva (cello), Yermek Sarsembayev (contrabass), Alexey Kosyrev (flute), Rakhmetali Bekbabayev (oboe), Alexander Malinovsky (tuba), Lyubov Tkachenko (harp), Murat Omarov (drums). In addition, the concert program will include fiery dances performed by Ulmeken Bektaeva and Chingiz Ospanbayev.

The listeners will be able to enjoy the synthesis of opera and jazz vocals performed by Astana Opera soloists: the Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhannat Baktay (soprano), the Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhan Tapin (tenor), international competitions laureatesSaltanat Akhmetova (soprano), Talgat Galeyev (baritone), Evgeni Chainikov (baritone).

Famous Kazakh opera singer Zhannat Baktay said that in Astana Opera foreign music of the XX century was added to her repertoire. – At the upcoming concert I will perform the song «Be My Love» by American composer N. Brodszky, new, original interpretation of Lucia di Lammermoor’s aria from the opera «Lucia di Lammermoor» by G. Donizetti, everyone’s favorite Kazakh folk songs «Bir Biday Arpa» and «Zhaydarman» in a new, unique jazz interpretation by the well-known contemporary composer Alibi Abdinurov, especially written for my solo repertoire, – said the leading soloist.

International competitions diploma holder, Madeniet kairatkeri Elena Sakhno will perform the part of the piano.
