The artists will perform the pas de deux from the third act of «Swan Lake» and pas de deux from «The Sleeping Beauty» by P. Tchaikovsky. – It is a great honor for our opera house and the ballet company in particular to introduce the classical ballet pieces on the stage of the Milanese theatre. A year ago, the Teatro alla Scala ballet company came to visit us on tour. After seeing our artists rehearsing a scene from the ballet «Swan Lake», the artistic director of the ballet troupe Makhar Vaziev was pleasantly surprised by their professionalism and invited them to perform at the closing of Expo Milano 2015, – said the ballet company director Tursynbek Nurkaliev.

We would like to remind that the Expo universal exposition takes place from May 1 to October 31, 2015. This major event unites people around topics of concern to all humankind. This year’s exhibition is taking place in Milan – the city of fashion, design and art. One of the city’s main attractions is the Teatro alla Scala. The opera house was designed by the architect Giuseppe Piermarini in the years 1776-1778 on the site of the church of Santa Maria della Scala, hence the name of the opera house.

- This is my first trip to the famous Italian theatre. I am truly happy to perform on the same stage with prominent artists. I am glad that I am going with my partner Yerkin Rakhmatullaev. It is a great joy and a great responsibility because we will be representing not only our opera house, but also all of Kazakhstan, – said Aigerim Beketayeva.

On October 25, five days before the performance Aigerim Beketayeva and Yerkin Rakhmatullaev will already be rehearsing with their colleagues in Italy. The artists will perform in costumes created by the Oscar-winning Franca Squarciapino (Italy).

The director of the ballet company Tursynbek Nurkaliev expressed confidence that the performance of Kazakhstani soloists will arouse great interest among Italians and visitors of this major event. – Primarily, this trip is a valuable experience for our artists. They will see dancers from different countries and be able to compare the styles of dance, ballet schools, which will undoubtedly enrich them professionally.
