A Grand Gala Concert Will Close II Theatrical Season of Astana Opera
The final chord of the second season of Astana Opera will be a gala concert with participation of the company’s opera and ballet stars. Spectacular final program will be presented in the Main Hall on July 12.
Ballet extravaganza, created by the young, full of strength ballet company artists: Serik Nakyspekov, Eldar Sarsembayev, Gulzira Zhantemir, Marat Abdrakhmanov, Baurzhan Mekembayev will open the concert consisting of two parts. The audience’s beloved masters of the stage arts Madina Basbayeva, Aigerim Beketayeva, Gauhar Usina, Anel Rustemova, Tair Gatauov, Zhandos Aubakirov, Yerkin Rakhmatullaev and Arman Urazov will add bright colors and expressiveness to the evening. The soloists will perform duets, trios, pas de deux, grand pas and excerpts from the most famous ballets.
Opera masterpieces await the audience in the second part. The winner of many prestigious awards Zhupar Gabdullina will sing Odabella’s aria “Santo di Patria” from the opera “Attila”, talented Narul Toykenov will perform Kazakh folk song “Akbakay”. Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhannat Baktay has prepared Philine’s Polonaise “Je Suis Titania” from the opera “Mignon” by A. Thomas. The finale from P. Tchaikovsky’s last opera “Iolanta” performed by brilliant artists Bibigul Zhanuzak, Zhamilya Jarkimbayeva, Arthur Kaipkulov, Talgat Galeev, Beimbet Tanarykov, Evgeny Chainikov, Saltanat Muratbekova, Gulzhanat Sapakova, Bolat Yessimkhanov and Ramzat Balakishiev will close the evening. Many other soloists, choir and symphony orchestra of Astana Opera will also take part in the concert. Abzal Mukhitdinov, Aidar Abzhakhanov, Arman Urazgaliev will be conducting.
The gala concert will be one hundred and fifth event held by the opera house in the second season. We would like to remind that in the past season Astana Opera has presented five premieres – three ballets: “Karagoz” by G. Zhubanova, “The Nutcracker” by P. Tchaikovsky and “The Fountain of Bakhchisarai” by B. Asafiev and two operas by G. Verdi – “Traviata of the Mirrors” directed by Henning Brockhaus and “Aida” directed by the great Franco Zeffirelli. Every premiere was original and unique in its own way.
In addition, Astana Opera has started to actively collaborate with international opera houses as part of memorandums of cooperation. The opera house’s ballet company performed a brilliant gala ballet program and A. Khachaturian’s ballet “Spartacus” staged by the legendary Yuri Grigorovich on the stage of Italian Teatro Carlo Felice. The troupe of Tbilisi Z. Paliashvili Opera and Ballet State Theatre from Georgia performed on the stage of Astana Opera and the first Kazakhstani tour of the oldest active opera house – Teatro di San Carlo from Naples, Italy was a huge success. Toward the end of the season leading soloists of Astana Opera Dina Khamzina, Talgat Mussabayev, Saltanat Akhmetova and Medet Chotabayev performed on the stage of the renowned Italian Teatro Carlo Felice. The ballet artists Aigerim Beketayeva and Yerkin Rakhmatullaev will perform at the legendary stage of Italian Teatro alla Scala in October this year.
The next season of Astana Opera will start in September. However, it is unlikely that the creative team will be resting. The rehearsals and preparations for the third season will already begin in August.
The concert starts at 19.00, the ticket prices range from 500 tenge.
