General Director of Kazak research institute of culture Andrey Khazbulatov and Deputy Ambassador of Norway Victor Jensen visited natural landmark Tamgaly

October 7, 2015 on a business trip General Director of the Kazakh research institute of culture Andrey Khazbulatov and the Deputy Ambassador of Norway Victor Jensen visited Tamgaly. Petroglyphs of this archaeological landscape are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The delegation was met by Abay Saduakasuly who is a Director of the State Historical-Cultural and Natural Reserve Museum "Tanbaly". Boris Zheleznyakov arranged an excursion in the reserve museum.

Issues of cooperative scientific projects concerning examination and popularization of Kazakhstan’s petroglyphs and international collaboration were discussed during the meeting.

Natural landmark Tamgaly is situated among the vast, arid Chu-Ili mountains, 170 km from Almaty and it is a remarkable concentration of 5,000 petroglyphs dating from the second half of the second millennium BC before the beginning of the 20th century.
