The President visits the National Museum

During the visit the Head of State has been informed about the activities of the museum, which is designed to be a modern intellectual center of the analysis and evaluation of the historical and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.

Nursultan Nazarbayevhas also visited the exhibition halls, which have archaeological, ethnographic, historical and cultural monuments of Kazakhstan - from the ancient times to the present day.

The National Museum of Kazakhstan was opened in 2014. The museum complex with a total area of ​​74 thousand square meters consists of seven blocks. More than 14 thousand square meters of exhibition area is occupied by 11 thematic rooms, including the ones dedicated to Astana, Kazakhstan's Independence, the halls of gold, ancient and medieval history, ethnography, and contemporary art. The building is equipped with equipment that meets international standards for exposure, and the modern technology is used for exhibitions.

Additionally, there are facilities for a children's museum, children's art center, exhibition halls, restoration workshops, laboratories, professional storage facilities, aresearch library with a reading room, conference room and a souvenir shop.
