The 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate is widely celebrated in all regions of Kazakhstan: international conferences and forums, competitions among schoolchildren and students, theater performances, festivals, akyns aityses on a republican level and museum exhibitions are being hosted, books are being published, feature films and documentaries are being filmed, etc.
Kazakh Research Institute of Culture has developed a website "The 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate" - important information and educational resource, popularizing the history of the Kazakh Khanate.
The highlight of the anniversary was the International scientific and practical conference "MANGILIK EL" sessions of which were held at "Nazarbayev University", the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NAL RK), the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The conference devoted to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate, was attended by prominent scientists from 20 countries. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chairman of the Commission on the organization and conduct of the anniversary of 550 years of the Kazakh Khanate Saparbayev B.M and Secretary of State of Kazakhstan Abdykalikova G.N spoke at the opening ceremony of the conference.
Kazakh Research Institute of Culture took part in the preparation and holding of the international scientific-practical conference "The eternal story of the Great Steppe", which was initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In collaboration with the National State Book Chamber and the National Academic Chamber Institute organized the invitation and the speech of 18 international and 15 Kazakh scientists (from the U.S, Canada, China, Russia, India, Egypt, Italy, France, and others).
The main objective of the conference is to discuss topical issues of the history of Kazakhstan's statehood, its continuity and success of independent Kazakhstan under the leadership of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the contemporary socio-political and cultural processes in the Eurasian space.
The conference was opened by book exhibition "From the Kazakh Khanate to Mangilik El", which featured more than 600 books from the
collections of the National Academic Library of Kazakhstan and the country's leading publishers.
KRIC called attention to readers public books published by the Institute, including the book "Epistolary heritage of the Kazakh ruling elite of 1675-1821: The collection of historical documents in 2 volumes," by leading researcher of the Institute, candidate of historical sciences Erofeeva Irina, "The Venice manuscript" Codex Cumanicus"and her new reading" by chief researcher of KRIC, doctor of Philology Garkavets Alexander and others.
The conference materials were published which included reports of the director of the institute, Andrey Khazbulatov, PhD ("Kazakh Khanate as an image of the Great Steppe. By the 550th anniversary of statehood)," A. Garkavets ("the Venice manuscript" Codex Cumanicus "and its new reading") and I.V.Erofeeva ("Hero of folk tales Alash Khan: historical personality or mythological character?")
