On May 2, 2018 in the Headquarters of the United Nations in New York the ‘Young generation education in the sphere of global citizenship’ international conference dedicated to the heritage of the great philosopher and scientist al Farabi was held.
The director general of Kazakh Research Institute of Culture of Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, PhD, Andrey Khazbulatov attended the conference as a member of Kazakhstani delegation and greeted the participants of the conference with an official speech on the behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to Dr Khazbulatov, the meeting happened to one of the many steps in the implementation process of the goals set by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in the ‘Rukhani Zhangyru’ state program based on the idea of presenting Kazakh culture to the global world through high achieving figures.
Furthermore, the conference participants were greeted by the High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser and the Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the United Nations Kairat Umarov.
Presenting the key-note address, PhD in technical sciences, professor, chancellor of Kazakh National University after Al Farabi (KazNU) Galimkair Mutanov mentioned the tremendous contribution made by Al Farabi, whose name has been firmly consolidated in the world’s history. His scientific work that had an impact on the European Renaissance happened to become a connecting bridge between the Eastern and Western cultures and philosophies.
The event gathered UN member countries delegations altogether with the expert and scientific community of the US and was held by KazNU and the UNAC with the support of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the UN.
