Cinematography collaboration between Kazakhstan and the US

On May 3, 2018 in the framework of a business visit to the US, Washington DC, the director general of Kazakh Research Institute of Culture of Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dr Andrey Khazbulatov had a series of appointments regarding the implementation of goals proposed in the ‘Rukhani Zhangyru’ state program.

Specifically, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the US, the business meeting between Dr Andrey Khazbulatov and Jay K. Footlik, Global Policy Initiatives CEO was arranged.

The issues discussed at the meeting involved common cinematography development projects, suggestions to the law case regarding cinematography which is currently being examined by the Parliamentary of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the perspectives and development strategies for Kazakhstani film making industry.

It has been suggested by the American side that for the successful development of cinematography certain tax exemptions legislatives for film production and distribution companies are essential to be implemented. In addition, the specifics of collaboration between Hollywood and Kazakhstani film production companies have been discussed. As a result, Kazakhstan invited US experts to research Kazakhstani potential in the sphere of cinematography. Notably, Mr Jay Footlik assured that American companies would be willing to cooperate.

Mr Jay Footlik has an experience in global strategic policy development as he worked in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. He has collaborated with 500 large companies, NGOs, startup projects, ministries and embassies, assisting them with development and implementation of goal achievement strategies. He served as a public relations coordinator in the American Jewish Community and as an assistant in the president Clinton’s campaign during his visits to Poland, Norway, Israel, the Gaza sector, Jordan and various cities of the US.

Furthermore, in 2017 during the visit of Kazakhstani delegation headed by the Minister of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Arystanbek Mukhamediuly in the Culture and Cinematography of Kazakhstan Day in the US, the foundation for Kazakhstani-American cooperation in the sphere of cinematography. The last meeting has become a bright practical implementation of the settled perspectives.
