On March 18, 2015 Almaty hosted a meeting in the format of the roundtable on the problems of the Kazakh language in the urban environment with the participation of the head of department on development of languages of Almaty M.K. Ahetova. The organizers of the event were: the Committee on language development, social and political work of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan, Kazakh Research Institute of Culture, private foundation "Mels Erzhanov" and the Institute of Linguistics named after A.Baytursynuly. The initiator of the event was the research fellow Kazakh Research Institute of Culture, director of the private fund "Mels Erzhanov" Zemfira Yerzhan.

During the discussion, the participants made a proposal to introduce a new specialty - advertising in the Kazakh language. Participants in the discussion believe that the new profession will solve the problem of poor translation of advertising texts in the state language.

"As a solution to the problem we are considering the introduction of a new specialty - advertising in the Kazakh language. The specialist must learn not only the language but also Kazakh culture. He has to create an advertisement for the Turkish-speaking citizens", - said the deputy director of the Institute of Linguistics named after Anar Baitursynov Fazylzhanova.

According to her, the experts owning Kazakh language at a high cultural level, not only improve the appearance of the city, but also increase the sale of goods and services. Fazylzhanova noted that in Kazakhstan there is no terminological committee and now need to work in this direction.

Chief Scientist of the Institute of Linguistics named after Baitursynov Nurkeldy Ouali proposed reform philological education: "For example, in Russia, a philologist of the Russian language has 42 branch: a philologist, a speech therapist, assistant scholar, linguist, advertisers and so on. Unfortunately, we are taught the traditional Soviet system. The need for our society in the official language majority. But the number of philologists who could meet these needs, a little. "

According to the head of department on development of languages of Almaty Ahetov Mamay, the city administration is ready to cooperate with the organizers of the round table to improve the quality of public information in a visual language of the city.

The round table on "The Kazakh language in the urban environment" adopted a resolution and a set of recommendations on key areas.
